Our hut is a short walk to the Chainbridge Hotel where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the river. This is also the start of the canal which is a great walk into town (about 2.5 miles). At the Llangollen Wharf you can take the canal boat to the Pontcysyllte aqueduct or stop at The Wharf Cafe before exploring the town.
Llangollen offers lots of water based activities including paddle boarding, canoeing, rafting and canal boat trips. For the full experience book in with one of the many activity experiences such as Bearded Men Adventures or White Water Active.
The historic Llangollen Railway offers great packages for steam train journeys around the area. Visit www.llangollen-railway.co.uk for bookings and special events.
Llangollen is more than a idyllic holiday venue. The town has many lovely stores, from local Welsh produce, camping and adventuring, clothing, gifts plus vintage and second hand stores.
There are lots of places to eat and drink including cafe's, pubs, tapas bars and restaurants. We can give you a full list on arrival and happy to help you book a table in advance.
Known as the 'stream in the sky', the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Taking the Llangollen Canal across the River Dee valley, the aqueduct took 10 years to complete and is the highest canal aqueduct in the world. Walk across the tow path or canoe across if you are feeling brave!
The hut is located in the valley of the River Dee, close to the famous Horseshoe falls. Created by Thomas Telford to divert water into the Llangollen canal, the falls are a beautiful place to walk the dog, paddle, swim or just relax with a picnic.
